Junior Buyer Position (Based in Coquitlam)

Sonepar, the world leader in the electrical distribution industry, is looking for a JUNIOR BUYER for its GESCAN Western Canada Division. The position is based in Coquitlam, B.C.

Gescan runs an automated forecasting system that employs paperless reporting requiring the buyer to analyze and work solely on screen with electronic data.

Duties of the buyer would include but not be limited to: - Reviewing buy reports in order to place purchase orders for maintaining adequate inventories at optimum costing levels for 25 branches between Vancouver Island and Northern Ontario - Working with vendors to create buys around opportunities to improve costing on product intended for resale - Reviewing and resolving problem stock issues identified on low stock reports in a timely manner - Monitoring and if necessary adjusting system parameters to produce better suggested buy numbers on automated buy reports - Maintaining manual parameters on any new or unusual items not set up for automatic system forecasting
